Hi everyone!
My name is Hannah and I am super excited to start this blog! Now that I've gotten my first review out the way, I thought I'd introduce myself.
I am currently a high school senior, planning to graduate in early June. I will be attending Texas Tech University next year as a science major. I work a restaurant job right now, so I'm not exactly rolling in money and I know my budget will get even tighter once I go to college. So, my solution is instead of giving up on my passion for makeup, turn to inexpensive brands and items!
My favorite inexpensive brands are Nyx, ELF, and Morphe Brushes so those brands will be featured on here a lot. My goal is to provide everyone with credible reviews on inexpensive products so everyone can look like a million bucks without having to spend it.
Blog posts will be posted on Mondays, but feel free to leave your email so you can be the first to know about a new post!
Also! Follow me on Instagram, Twitter, and Tumblr to get updates on posts and products I will be reviewing in the future!
Stay Glam!
XOXO

Review of Nyx Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer
Review of Nyx Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer ($16.00)
Find it here!!I've always loved Nyx products, so when I picked up the Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer I would anxious to see if it would do what I needed to.
*Background: I have really oily skin especially in my T-Zone area, so I was looking for a mattifying primer that would prevent my foundation from moving and slipping!
First off, I love the packaging! I like that its simple but still really pretty. I tried it out on the back of my hand in the store before purchasing just to see what effect it had on my skin. After patting it in on the back of my hand, the skin was smooth and soft with no oily residue, and for only $16, I was sold!
My first time trying this primer under my foundation was interesting. I was honestly nervous to try it out because I read online that it cause many users breakouts, and I was finally at a state of peace with my skin. I threw caution to the wind though and tried it out.
The primer comes out opaque white and does leave a white cast - this was not necessarily an issue for me because I have fairly fair skin, however I know for those with deeper complexions, this will be an issue. So that's one con on the list. After applying the primer my skin felt just like on the back of my hand - soft and smooth. I applied my foundation and the rest of my makeup, which managed to cover the white cast by the way, and went about my day.
This particular day I didn't use a setting spray because I had run out, so I did have to touch up with powder about halfway through the day. However, after using this primer for months now, I can say I am absolutely in love. My foundation doesn't slide and my T-Zone stays mostly matte all day as long as I use a setting spray.
So, here are the pros and cons:
PROS
- Leaves skin smooth and soft
- Keeps foundation from sliding
- Fairly cheap and possible dupe for Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer
CONS
- Leaves white cast that could show through foundation on deeper skin tones
- Without setting spray, could possibly need to touch up with powder
Overall, I will be purchasing this primer again!!
XOXO,
Hannah
